Firmware Update Procedure for Life Design Models (Transmitter)

Step 3. Copy the firmware file onto an USB flash memory.

Preparation of the USB flash memory

Please prepare a FAT or FAT32 formatted USB flash memory (16GB - 256GB) with more available free space than the self-extracted file (PANAEUSB.FRM).
Please use PC for formatting to FAT or FAT32.
Note : When formatting the USB flash memory, all data (including protected data) will be erased and can not be recovered. Please ensure you back up your important data so you don't lose it.

Insert your formatted USB flash memory to your USB slot of your PC.

Copy the file into the Root directory (*1) of the USB flash memory.
(*1) Root directory = The first or top-most directory in the hierarchy.

Step 4. Install the firmware update.

  1. Turn on the transmitter with the power button of the transmitter.
    Then, please wait until the display window of the transmitter displays "MENU" after displaying "HELLO".
  2. Insert the USB flash memory prepared in STEP 3 into the USB terminal of the transmitter.
    Please use USB input(*) of the transmitter. (*USB port dedicated for Software Update)
    Do not insert into the USB input of the monitor. (If you did by mistake, nothing happens.)
  3. After approximately 1 minute, the display window will display "BYE", then the transmitter will be automatically turned off.
    Then, within a few seconds, software update will be started with displaying on the display window.
    After turning off, if the software update is not automatically started, please turn on the power with the power button of the transmitter.
    Please wait until the display window will display "FINISH".
    It takes about 5 minutes to complete. (Depending on the condition of the transmitter, it may take longer.)
    Please do not turn off the power until "FINISH" is displayed.
  4. After the software update is completed, please remove the firmware update USB memory and turn off with the power button of the transmitter.
  5. Turn on again the transmitter with the power button of the transmitter.
    Then, please wait until the display window of the transmitter displays "MENU" after displaying "HELLO".
    Then, turn off again the transmitter with the power button of the transmitter and make sure the clock is displayed on the display window.
    (Depending on your setting, the clock is not displayed.)
    After the while, your product will automatically connect wireless network between the monitor and the transmitter, and the monitor will display the screen.
  6. Confirm the new version of the system software. Refer to Step1.
    7. The software update installation procedure for the transmitter is now complete.
    Also, please be sure to confirm the software of monitor is latest. If it is not, please update.
    Please confirm the software version by "Download Information of Life Design Models for Asia (Monitor)".
Note : During the procedures of above 3, if the display window does not show "BYE", please make sure again the [Step 1. Check the current version of firmware used by your product.]
If the software version of the transmitter is already equal or more than the software in the USB memory, the software update will not be performed.
In this case, please remove the USB memory.
