License Agreement

The Firmware update program for UN-W700 and related documentations (the “Software”) made available through this website are licensed to you on condition that you agrees to the terms and conditions of the following Software Licensing Agreement.  Please read the Software Licensing Agreement carefully before using the Software.

In addition to proprietary programs owned by or licensed to Panasonic Entertainment & Communication Co., Ltd. (“Panasonic”), the Software contains certain open source software programs licensed under several licenses, including without limitation GNU General Public License Version 2.0 and GNU Lesser General Public License Version 2.1 (the "Open-Sourced Components").

For Open-Sourced Components, please refer to the applicable license terms displayed on the screen of the product in accordance with the guidance.  In addition, the Open-Sourced Components are copyrighted by several individuals, and please refer to the copyright notice of those individuals at (http://panasonic.net/avc/oss/dmp/index.html ).

In the event of any conflict between the terms of this Agreement and those of the Open-Sourced Components, the latter shall prevail.

Software Licensing Agreement

1. License

You are granted the right to use the Software, but the copyright of the Software are not transferable to you.

2. Use by a Third Party

You may not use, copy or transfer or allow any third party, whether free of charge or not, to use, or copy the Software and related documentations except as specifically provided in this Agreement.

3. Reverse Engineering

You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software.  Panasonic shall not be bound by warranty for any defects in the Software caused by License's reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembly of the Software.  Furthermore, Panasonic or its distributors or dealers will not be responsible for any damage to you caused by your reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembly of the Software.

4. After-sales Service

If a problem should occur with the Software while you are using the Software,you should notify Panasonic of the problem at the contact information provided in the owner's manual. Panasonic undertakes to provide you with the necessary information including, without limitation, the error information or the revised usage to the best of its knowledge.

5. Indemnification

Panasonic or any of its distributors or dealers shall not be liable for any damage suffered by you, either directly or through claims from a third party, arising from or in connection with your use of the Software.

6. Export Control

You may not export or re-export the Software in whole or in part except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Software was obtained.

7. Source Code

You may obtain the source code for some of the Open-Sourced Components at (http://panasonic.net/avc/oss/dmp/index.html).  At least three (3) years from delivery of the product, Panasonic will give to any third party who contact us at the contact information provided in the owner's manual, for a charge no more than our cost of physically performing source code distribution, a complete machine-readable copy of the corresponding source code covered under some of the Open-Sourced Components

8. Termination

This Agreement will be automatically terminated if you breach or contravene any of the terms and conditions of this Agreement.  In this event, you must destroy the Software together with all the copies thereof at your own expense whether Panasonic notifies you or not of it.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction:

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.  You agree that any action related to this Agreement is brought in the District Court of Osaka, Japan.
