Step 4. Decompress the downloaded file

Check the file size of the downloaded file and decompress it. (Supported for Windows only.)

  1. Checking the file size
    Right click on the downloaded software, and select "Properties" on Windows menu. Make sure that the size of the file is the same as the size listed on the download page.
    If the file size differs, please download it again.
  2. Decompressing the file
    Double-click the file, or, depending on your PC, use free software to unzip ZIP files.
    The decompressed file will be named as
    a) "TMAX15_V_1_00_07.MVA" for SC-TMAX15
    b) "TMAX45_V_1_00_07.MVA" for SC-TMAX45

Step 5. Preparing the USB device

Before start creating the update USB device, please check update file to make sure it has correct file name.
It is important to use the correct file, otherwise USB version up process will not work.
Below are the file name and file for your reference:

  • Please prepare USB device which memory is less than 32GB and file format FAT or FAT32.(not support exFAT)
  • To create USB to update, copy the MVA file (depends on model) into USB root folder.
  • Do not put any files other than the MVA file in the root of the USB.

Note:
Do not rename the file as the updating process will look for above naming. If different name, version up process will not work.

Step 6. Software Update
Caution:
  • Do not unplug the AC power cord until the update is complete. This may cause the unit to malfunction.
  • During the update process, do not remove the USB device for update.
  • Do not press any buttons, except as instructed.
    Steps:
  1. Press [INPUT SELECTOR] repeatedly to select "USB".
  2. Insert USB device with below files inside.
    a) "TMAX15_V_1_00_07.MVA" for SC-TMAX15
    b) "TMAX45_V_1_00_07.MVA" for SC-TMAX45
  3. During the update process, "UPG" will be displayed.
  4. After updating, the unit will automatically turn off.
  5. Remove USB device.
  6. Follow 'Step 1: Check the software version currently installed in your SC-TMAX15 / SC-TMAX45' to confirm the updated software version. It should be according to the 'Update version' from the above 'Update Information' table.
Note:
After updating process successfully finished, delete the MVA file from the USB device.
Otherwise, updating process will start again if insert this USB device to this unit.

Appendix. Recovery (if the unit does not turn on after firmware update)

- To recover, please follow the steps below.

Steps:
  1. If a USB device is inserted, remove it.
  2. Unplug the AC power cord from the outlet and leave it for 20 seconds or more.
  3. Insert the USB device containing the update software.
  4. Plug in the AC power cord.
  5. Wait 30 seconds (nothing will be displayed on the unit during this time, but if the access LED on the USB memory is flashing, the firmware is being updated).
  6. Remove the USB device.
  7. Unplug the AC power cord and plug it back in.
  8. Turn on the unit with the power button and check the version number follow step 1. If it shows "1.07", the update is complete.
  9. After the update process successfully finished, delete the MVA file from the USB device.
