  1. RAW video data output over HDMI to Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR
    - [4K] / [Anamorphic (4:3) 3.7K] 12-bit RAW video data can be output over HDMI to Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR, to be recorded as Blackmagic RAW.
    * All functions may not be available depending on the situation.
    * DaVinci Resolve or DaVinci Resolve Studio is required to play back the Blackmagic RAW data.
    DaVinci Resolve Studio is required to edit the Blackmagic RAW data.

    - Tracking and recognition performance of AF have been improved with an addition of head recognition.
    - Human/Animal recognition can be set ON or OFF when the AF mode is set to [1-Area].
  2. RAW video data output over HDMI
    - [4K] / [Anamorphic (4:3) 3.7K] 12-bit RAW video data can be output over HDMI.
    » The Apple ProRes RAW can be recorded on Atomos Ninja V.

    * Software that supports Apple ProRes RAW is required to edit RAW video recorded with Ninja V.
    * A LUT (Lookup table) exclusively designed for RAW video recorded on NINJA V is available on the following customer support website to make the same color grading as V-Log/V-Gamut.

    - [Red REC Frame Indicator] function has been added.
    - It is possible to play back vertical videos vertically.
    - Users can choose to add or not to add camera orientation information in [Vertical Position Info (Video)] menu to prevent unintended image rotation in playback.
    - [Video Guide Line] function has been upgraded with more options.
  4. Other added functions
    - [Power Save Mode] can be selectable while the camera is powered with an AC adaptor(DMW-AC10, sold separately).

    - [Animal Detect.] has been added to AF mode.
    - [AF-ON: Near Shift] and [AF-ON: Far Shift] functions have been added. [AF-ON: Near Shift] preferably focuses on a subject nearby while [AF-ON: Far Shift] preferably focuses on a subject far away.
    - Focus Peaking function is available in any AF mode.
    - It is possible to set continuous AF on the live view screen in Creative Video mode or in other video recording mode when the video recording area is displayed.

    - [AWBw] has been added to WB mode.
    - [Highlight Weighted] has been added to metering mode.
    - [Exposure Offset Adjust.] has been added to Custom menu, which enables adjustment of the standard exposure value for all metering modes.

  4. Other improvements
    - AE can be locked with the [AF/AE LOCK] button when ISO Auto is set in M mode.
    - [MODE1] has been added to the Live View Boost function, which increases the frame rate for smooth image display to enable easier manual focusing.
  5. Improved operational stability
    - There were cases where Backup Recording using the Double Card Slot Function stopped during writing. This bug has been fixed.
    - AF operation following the pressing of [AF-ON] in MF mode was unstable when the LVF Frame Rate was at 120 fps and the camera was under dim lighting. This bug has been fixed.
    - There were cases where the images shot vertically did not rotate on playback. This bug has been fixed.

    - Smooth aperture control is available during video recording.
    - [Aperture Ring Increment] has been added with which users can choose the control method of the aperture ring from [SMOOTH] or [1/3EV] in photo shooting.

    - The video REC switch on the Remote Shutter can be disabled in the camera's custom menu.

    - There were cases where the exposure was not correct when recording in Creative Video Mode. This bug has been fixed.

    - The image quality when using [V-LogL] for VFR recording in Creative Video mode has been improved.
    - The image quality when set to [i.Dynamic (Intelligent Dynamic Range Control)] has been improved.
  4. Improvement of operation under specific lighting conditions (fluorescent lights, etc.)
    - There were cases where the camera did not catch up to the brightness change smoothly under specfic lighting conditions such as fluorescent lights. The new firmware minimizes this problem.

    - AF performance of photo shooting under lowlight, low-contrast environment has been improved.
    - AF speed at 180d (180°) has been improved when displaying the shutter speed in degrees in [SS/Gain Operation]>[ANGLE/ISO].
  2. Improvement of sound recording performance
    - Sound quality has been improved by optimizing the noise reduction performance of internal noise cancelling microphone.
  3. New functions
    - [L.Monochrome D] has been added to Photo Style.
    - [Grain Effect] can be added and adjusted in Photo Style.
    - [Focus Ring Lock] has been added to [Custom] menu, which disables focus ring operation to lock the focus.
    - [WB/ISO/Expo. Button] has been added, which enables adjustment of WB/ISO/Exposure only while the exposure compensation button is pressed. This can be set [Custom]>[Operation].
    - [Dial] has been added to [Custom]>[Operation Lock Setting].
  4. Other Improvements
    - [Focus Ring Lock], [E-Stabilization(Video)], [Sound Rec Level Disp.] and [L.Monochrome D] can be assigned to the Fn button that works in recording mode.
    - Vector Scope can be displayed on the screen while adjusting white balance.
    - It is possible to choose images from group display such as burst shots in [RAW Processing] mode.
    - There were cases where the Image Stabilizer icon was not displayed when switching the settings of Image Stabilizer using the Fn button on the H-ES200 interchangeable lens. This bug has been fixed.
    - There were cases where folder name was garbled when connecting wirelessly with Windows10-based PC. This bug has been fixed.
